Batman: The Killing Joke Comic GCG Graded 9.6
It’s Tuesday again, and we have another special item from the shop to share as part of our #TuesdayTreasures series!
This treasure came into the shop as part of a large comic book collection, and any Batman fan will immediately know this is a standout issue. Even non-fans have probably heard of The Killing Joke, written by renowned comic writer Alan Moore (also the author of Watchmen and V for Vendetta). First published in 1988, this is the Joker’s defining origin story, and easily one of the best Batman comics of all time. It was this comic that redefined the Joker’s character and shaped the image of him that we know from movies like The Dark Knight and Joker. The CGC has graded this 9.6/10, and the green title on the cover shows that this book is a valuable First Printing (subsequent printings were done in other colors). Any serious collector and fan would want to make this iconic issue a part of their collection, and we consider ourselves lucky to have it in our store!
