1997 Scoreboard Visions Kobe Bryant Autograph Card
#TuesdayTreasures 06/30/2020 - ‘97 Kobe Bryant Autographed Card
Welcome to the first in what will be a series of #TuesdayTreasures posts! There are a LOT of gems that come into the shop–too many to put in one place–so each Tuesday I’ll be picking one out and showing it off.
This week’s treasure came to us through a collection one of our customers brought in, and is a real find! We have a 1997 Scoreboard Visions Artistry basketball card, autographed by the late, great Kobe Bryant. Drafted straight out of high school in ‘96 by the LA Lakers, he went on to become an 18-time NBA All-Star and 2008 NBA MVP. Kobe spent 20 years with the Lakers, over 1,300 career games, and never laced up for another team. This card was printed early in his career, during his second NBA season, and the front features a crisp, clear rookie signature, with clean lettering and a prominent #8–a number which has since been retired. This pack-pulled on-card autograph has its authenticity guaranteed by The Score Board, who produced these genuine-autograph cards in limited quantities. You won’t find many of these around, and the
ones you do will often come at a premium. Kobe was one of the greatest basketball players of all time, taken from us too soon. This card is a small, special part of his legacy, and it’s an honor to own this piece of basketball history.
